There are several small rooms around the museum holding specialist collections. The Map Room contains all the information you need to understand why Lyme Regis is so good for fossils. This is where you can learn how to find your own 200 million year old fossil.
The Mineral Room houses an exceptional and scientifically important mineral collection with specimens from all over the world. Of particular interest is the pyrite cube snake from Spain and the minerals from long lost locations in Cornwall. The Devon Room houses a vast collection of Devon Coral Marble from the late 19th Century when this was the prime source of monumental marble in England. There is a collection of incredibly rare armoured fish from the Devonian of Scotland.
